わけ is a noun so you need something to link 人間 with it, and the LAW just happens to dictate that it has to be な and not の.
For i-adjective and verb, わけ can link directly. e.g. 「その方法は良くないわけです」「行くわけないでしょう」

sorry, it's the opposite, 人間 is a noun so you need something to link わけ with it. But わけ really is a noun, that part wasnt wrong.
