I don't think that's a sentence ending full-stop, but just the symbol used to signalize the word's shortened
with the full version likely being the simple "dialectical"

Slight mistake in the 1st definition
"1. soy sauce; shoyu しょゆ, しょゆう are dial."
I assume it is supposed to say something in the vein of "are dialectal variants", but it got cut by accident somehow?
