When I search for meaning of 日本勢 jisho.org pronounces it as にち　もとせ！！

Probably because it's not in jmdict as its own entry. Just as one entry for 日本 and one entry for 勢 as a suffix.

Right, earlier it was getting pulled as 日 and 本勢. But good to see that it is now rectified.
