My wife says 一パック (ひとパック), 二パック (にパック), 三パック (さんパック) for things in that kind of packaging. For whatever reason, it's not いちパック or ふたぱっく, but that could possibly be different from person to person, or by region.

Thank you Leebo. The gairaigo of it makes sense. Does your wife know a word for perhaps similar small packages? I'm thinking if it's a package, (contents unknown), say shoebox size or maybe a tad bigger, is there a Japanese word perhaps? I remember learning the word "furoshiki" (long time ago) which was a bundle given wrapped in a cloth? JDIC says, "wrapping cloth" or "something wrapped". Is that now an obscure word or irrelevant?

-counter for packets of meat
I understand how counters work in Japanese but try as I might, it's time to admit I need some guidance because I've read so many lists. Can someone help me with a counter for packages of meat. For example, I want to buy a 500g pack of slice meat for Shabu Shabu at my local Japanese supermarket. You know the type, hard plastic tray, meat covered in gladwrap, the weight and price sticker on the outside. Probably not a difficult question for native or advanced speakers but I'm not sure what to use. Thanks in advance.
