So, most kanji will have a kun or On-reading. The kun reading is used when a kanji is by itself. meaning there are no other kanji. The On-reading is used when a kanji is grouped with another kanji.

@Molonger so from my understanding since it's 十五名 it is right to read it as じゅうごめい right?

Yeah it should be read「めい」, though I wouldn't say because it's in a compound, rather because 「名(めい)」 is a counter word for individuals (while「名(な)」is not).

Incorrect kanji reading
I am not really sure because I'm still a beginner but from my understanding 十五名 isn't read as じゅうごな but as じゅうごめい
